Sagal Khalid is an MSc computer science student at the University of Birmingham, with a strong interest in applying data science and machine learning to healthcare challenges. Her dissertation focused on digital pathology, where she developed a patch-based convolutional neural network (CNN) for breast cancer tumour grade classification using whole-slide images.
Sagal is particularly interested in medical imaging and how data-driven approaches can improve diagnostics and patient outcomes. Through this internship, she is looking forward to gaining hands-on experience with real-world healthcare data and further developing her technical and analytical skills.
